An evening wish

Hello every puggy. Winston heres. While I was outs in the garden hanging with my sisters Tika and Kizzy. I was deep in thoughts. I mean really deep in thoughts. So deep that the girls were calling my name and I did not even hear them. See how concerned they looks about my deep thought.

So Kizzy came overs and asked what was ups. So I told her. Then she told me that if I made a wish maybe that thought would transpire into something goods. I didn't know how I would make a wish so she whispered in my ear what I needed to do.

Hmmm this would involve Mum! So tonights when Mum announced we would go for a walks I took the opportunity to gets Mum to helps me.

At the start of the walks I was so excited that I had a tumble and made a face plant in the gravel path. Mum only saw the end of the fall so she missed me doing the face plants but she knew I had fallen on my face cuz my face and nose was all dusty and dirty. See the dust on my nose? Mum managed to dust off my face but I need a face wash to gets my nose clean! Don't worry though..... I's ok, I didn't hurts myself.

It was at that moment as I was getting my face dusted off that I spied what I was lookings for. A Dandelion!!!!! Yup Kizzy saids that if I wanted to makes a wish I needed to find a dandelion loaded with seed spores. And guess whats..... there was one right theres beside me. So, I asked Mum to picks it and hold it so I could blow on it and send the spores flying aways.

I blew on it really hard then closed my eyes and made my wish. (okay Mum says it was more like I snarfed on it but whatever!). Now all I have to do is waits and see what happens. I can't tells you what my wish is until it happens so you will all just have to sit tight and wait it out with me.

On the way back to the car we watched the sun goes down. It looked so pretty. This is the beach that I really want to takes Tuni to when she comes to visit me. Isn't the sun set Bee-U-Tee-Ful?

Whale Watching..... WITHOUT ME!!!!

Hello everypuggy,

Today I am letting Mum post pictures of her 4 day excursion to the North Tip of Vancouver Island, a place called Port McNeill near Telegraph Cove.

Here is a maps so you can sees where she wents..... (How could she.... without me PFT, opps sorry Mum that just slipped outs)

She tooks the Greyhound and they don't let Pugs on board!

(Ok yah whatever Mum...... )

She tooks the bus to the ferry terminal then the ferry over to Vancouver Island.

This is downtown Vancouver way off in the distance..... you may need to bigify to see its better.

And Mum said that foot passengers aka - "Walk-ons" have a special deck area if they have their dog with them.

Dogs aren't allowed up on the main decks but look heres..... there is a special area for dogs and there is water, benches and poop bags plus windows!

Hmmmm nice picture Mum, but I think that there is somethings missing......

YAH, I THINKS THAT SOMETHINGS WOULD BE...... ME!!!

(I only have on things to say..... you would thinks that if that bus is called "Greyhound" that dogs would be allowed on board!)

Ok Ok...... shesh Mum.... on to the pictures.

So after getting to Port McNeill Mum went to Alert Bay for a day trips. You have to takes a small ferry to Alert Bay as it is on an Island. The ferry ride is only 40 minutes.

This is the first picture after getting off the ferry. Alert Bay is homes to a community of First Nations peoples.

This is the main street. It is very smalls with a couple of stores and a museum and fishing warf.

There are lots of hiking trails and an ecological park.

Can you see the bee? You might needs to bigify. These flowers are in-dee-gee-us to the area. Mum says it means it grows naturally in the area and is native to our province. First Nations peoples use this plant for medicinal purposes.

Here is the anglican church that is over 100 years old. The towns up there were founded on logging. There is also fishing but "white man" came up to log and that is how the towns were established.

This is the harbour front where the ferry comes into. There used to be salmon canning factory here but it closed down long times ago. Fish in the area has dropped in abundance and there are strict fishing regulations to prevent the fish from disappearing.

Fish are super important as you will see in this next picture......

KILLER WHALES!!! This was the highlight of the trips.

And went outs into the Blackfish Sound to see Killer Whales. It was a 4 hour boat ride and it started off foggy but turned super sunny as the day progressed. Here are pictures from the day.

These ones are just scenic pics. While you takes a minute to looks at them I will hum a songs. You may want to bigify to see better.

Ok pretty cool huh? But here comes the best parts..... Whales

Now there are some pretty strict regulations that boaters have to follow when boating near whales. And people are regulated very closely. Yous get into big troubles if yous don't follow the rules!

Anyway, Mum's captain followed all rules and no one gots into trouble.

See the fin.... well right behind it is the baby whale. How cutes is that!

Ok this one was super cool. The whale gots super curious and came rights up to the boat. This is allowed because the whale came to you, but you have to turn off the boat engine and not bother the whale in any way.

See it is looking at Mum! Then it swam aways to join the rest of the pod.

The boat also had a mic on board. The captain dropped the mic into the water at certain times so Mum could here the whale talk under the water. She says it is like barking that us pugs do only it is whale language.

If you like whales and want to helps them, you can adopt a killer whale through the killer whale program. Mum saids that we are going to looks at the whales and pick one to adopt. I will post about our whale once we have picked one.

Mum did bring me back a cool starfish squeaky toy! Okay, now I forgive Mum for leaving me at homes. She said next time we will drives up there in the car...... then I can go toos!

A "Green Stubby" Report with Winston

Hello everypuggy,

Welcome to my first Go Green post. I have named these posts "Green Stubby" after our friend, Stubby, who inspired me to posts about how I participate in keeping our planet green.

 Today's report focuses on a product line that Mum found at Walmart.

One day Mum went shopping at the new Super Centre Walmart. She needed to gets some household products. In the household aisle she discovered the "Great Value Green Line".

Naturally Mum was all over it. She read the labels carefully and decided that this was a line of products we needed to trys.

Here I am pictured with the first two items.

The one on the left is the dishwasher tablets. Hmmm this one has no smell at alls. Mum likes that. There are no harsh chemicals or phospates.

This next photo I am focusing ons the Hand Washing Dish Liquid.

Mum luvs this product. Again, there are no harsh chemicals and Mum really likes the soft Lavender Vanilla scent. Not too strongs. Hmmmm Mum is rights, smells nice!

The next item to discuss is the kitchen garbage bags.

These bags are bio-dee-grade-a-bull! shesh whatever that words means...... Oh right, Mum just said it means they break downs in the garbage dump. Again this is the Walmart Great Value Green Line product.

And the last product is the laundry product line.

It is a nice lavender Scent and not too strongs of a scent either. There is a detergent and softener. It is super concentrated so you only needs to use a tiny amounts. I likes this product it makes my blankets smell very nice and feel super softs without harsh chemicals.

We tested these products and are very happys with them. Not only are they good for our environment but the price is reasonable and the product works.

These are available at Walmart Canada. We don't knows if this line is available in America. (Maybe someone can let us know if they have seen them down there.)

 August 1st was Emmitt's 14th birthday. Can you believe its!! If you haven't stopped by his blog you must do so after reading my post. He is having one heck of a party celebration.

The other Birthday on August 1st is Bridget. Stop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday too.

There were lots more pugs there but Mum had a hard time getting thems to stand stills for pictures (lots of pug scuttles happening by excited pugs).

MY HISTORY LESSON AT THE PARK

So afterwards I came homes and Dad, Mum and me piled backs into the car and headed 45 minutes east to Langely to a park called Derby Reach Regional Park. This park is situated along the shore of the "mighty" Fraser River.

We luvs to explore and this was our first times there. Mum and me wanted to checks out the off leash area. It is huge with lots of grass area and all fenced in. There is even a small beach area for us dogs. I was very satisfied with it and Mum was satisfied that I was satisfied. Mum did not get pictures of the off leash area cause there wasn't much in the way of scenery. Buts..... we did stop further downs at the site of the original Hudson Bay Fort called Fort Langley. It was here Mum gave me my first history lesson.

The fort was originally situated heres. The fort was the original settlement site of the first white peoples in the lower mainland of Vancouver area. It was owned by the Hudson Bay Company and was mainly used for trading. There is no fort left here though. There is now a replica of the fort built not far from heres. It is a tourist attraction and educational site.

Mum tooks a picture of this, it kinda explains things a bit. You probably have to bigify its though to be able to reads it.

Now onto the pictures of me at the edge of the Fraser River.

Um only problem is that the area is very muddy with clay

The Fraser River used to be the site of many Lumber Mills situated along the river's edge. You can still see log boons in the water but there are not nearly as many mills as there were at the beginning of the 1900's

Then we walked back to the historical farm land site.

Mum tooks some pictures of me in fronts of the old buildings.
